Great Ham Cottage is a pretty converted annexe sitting adjacent to a detached period cottage, in an idyllic rural spot near the beach. The property has its own entrance and has a shower room/utility on the ground floor, along with an open plan kitchen/sitting room and bedroom on the first floor. For a quiet, country retreat it is perfect and there are beautiful walks all round, particularly to the beach, which is only about 10 minutes' away.The property has just been refurbished and has a new kitchen and shower room and comfortable, compact accommodation. It will suit a couple wanting to "get away from it all" to enjoy peace and quiet, or to use it as a great base for exploring the area. All bills, linen and towels are included and guests can have use of the lovely gardens adjacent to the property. There is also informal parking.
Ham is a stunning rural hamlet situated on the coast in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The nearest village is Sidlesham which is only a mile or so away and the historic cathedral city of Chichester lies just a few miles to the north of Sidlesham. Ham is a totall unspoilt part of West Sussex and many people, even locally, are unaware of its existence. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful surrounds, wildlife, beautiful beach and general tranquility, whilst being only about a fifteen minute drive to Chichester. This ancient and historic cathedral city has a beautiful centre, where great card has been taken to preserve its character and heritage. The centre is dominated by the beautiful cathedral and the four main streets feed off the central monument, The Cross. There is an interesting array of shops and the city has a famous Festival Theatre which attracts actors and visitors from all over the world. Numerous sporting activities are to be enjoyed in the area, such as horse racing at Fontwell and Goodwood, motor sports also at Goodwood, polo at Cowdray near Midhurst, windsurfing and sailing nearby, cricket at Arundel and a good selection of golf courses.for walkers there is an abundance of different coastal and downland walks and the nearby Pagham Naure Reserve has a great variety of wildlife. There are good road links from Chichester to Portsmouth and Brighton, which each have a selection of interesting places to visit, including The Victory and Spinnaker Tower. Arundel, just a few miles to the east, has an historic castle, boat trips along the River Arun and some eclectic shops to visit. Arundel, Chichester and Brighton all have summer festivals.
