Japonica Cottage is an attractive rustic cottage set in a quiet village location. The property has great character with exposed beams in many rooms and can accommodate up to 4 people with the use of twin pull-out beds. On the ground floor there is a cosy sitting room with a log burner for those cold winter months. The sitting room is open-plan to a country cottage style kitchen and dining area. There is also a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs, the master bedroom, with its large sleigh bed, has an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has the pull-out twin beds, so can be used as a single room or as a cosy twin. Japinoca Cottage is ideal for a quiet get-away, whether it be for a short break, a longer holiday or to use as a base from which to explore the local area.
West Ashling is a beautiful Downland village situated just a few miles to the north west of Chichester. There is a village pub about 100 yards from Japonica Cottage (Richmond Arms) and a pretty mill pond in the centre of the village. The village is surrounded by stunning countryside, ideal for mountain biking/cycling & walking. From thatch cottages to Georgian country houses, West Ashling is a quintessential English country village. It is only a few miles from both Chichester and Goodwood, the former being an historic city, dominated by its beautiful cathedral. Chichester has a shopping centre full of character, with an interesting array of shops & restaurants and there is plenty to do in the city. Pallant House Gallery is a well regarded art gallery exhibiting works by a variety of artists, the Chichester Festival & Minerva Theatres have shows running throughout the year and there is a cinema and bowling complex just to the south of the city. Just a few miles to the south is the beautiful south coast. If you enjoy sandy beaches, West Wittering has one of the best in the area, attracting wind surfers and swimmers alike. The sailing villages of Bosham & Itchenor are only a few miles away and Portsmouth to the west, with its famous Spinnaker Tower, is within about 30 minutes drive. Brighton is about a 40 minute drive to the east, with an eclectic range of shops and entertainment. Nearby Goodwood plays host to world famous motor sports events, the Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival Meeting, as well as horse racing events.
